Jean-Louis Sabaji Spring 2023 Barbie Collection

Due to the upcoming Barbie movie, the whole world has gone Barbie crazy (if they weren't already!) Brands everywhere are hopping on the Barbie Wave. If you know anything about Jean Louis Sabaji, you know his collections are creative, detailed, and whimsical. According to Vogue Arabia, Sabaji has made history by being the first Arab designer to ever collaborate with the iconic Barbie.

This line includes models of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicity, which shows how inclusive the Barbie brand has become. In classic Barbie fashion, this collection includes various shades of pink, flirty silhouettes, and creative designs. The themes of this collection, according to the designer are based on love, equality, and woman empowerment, all themes that make this collaboration perfect for the Barbie legacy. Jean-Louis Sabaji took inspiration from flamingos when two flamingos put their heads together & the heart shape it makes, and how the pink color is equal between females and males. Also, The pairing of the pink and black was done intentionally, to contrast with the pink to really make it pop.

Barbie is known for her fashion, women empowerment, and inclusion, but did you know it wasn't always like that? The original Barbie dolls all had blonde hair, blue eyes, white skin, and a skinny body. Over the years, we've seen hundreds of different Barbie's all different colors and sizes. So seeing a collection as diverse as this one, with a wide selection of models, makes a huge difference in fashion.

This line is in my opinion is one of the better Barbie collections I've seen this summer. The amount of detail in every single piece makes the collection praise-worthy. You can definitely see the Barbie influences, but it also has Sabaji written all over, which makes this collaboration all the better.
