Betsey Johnson Spring 2001 Collection

Betsey Johnson’s spring 2001 collection was one of the most iconic fashion shows of the decade. This collection included a lot of early 2000s trends along with playboy fashion. The collection includes 80+ different looks divided into 12 segments for each month of the year. A wide variety of pastels, rhinestones, bright colors, and sequins were used in this line.
This line was known for sequin tube tops, georgette dresses, bridesmaid dresses, bedazzled bikinis, and bright-colored bunny ears.
Betsey Johnson is best known for her feminine and “over the top” designs.
Shades of fuchsia, baby blue, salmon, green, and yellow were shades consistent in this line. Denim was also a common theme in this line.
Since this collection was a collab with Playboy, we can see the models wearing a wide range of bunny ears and even Playboy bunnies modeling some of the outfits.
Since this collection has so many looks, I’m only going to include my top 15 favorite looks.

I love this two-piece look. The full glitter tube top with the matching pants lining and the matching ears look so good together. I love the contrast from the sheer glitter bottoms to the full glitter top. This look is very put together and cute.

I love this shade of gold. I think this look is very creative and unique. I could see this being paired with many different pieces. This whole bronze look was very well done. This is a perfect look for summer.

I really like this all-white look. It seems glamorous while still being comfortable and versatile. I think the puffball purse is absolutely adorable and fits very well with this ensemble. This is a really good outfit to put over other pieces.

I LOVE this look. The red knee-length halter top with the pink heart in the middle gives me valentines day vibes. I love how the red and pink compliment each other without taking away from the look. Also the matching shoes and clutch make this look.

The pink spaghetti strap sundress is giving me Barbie vibes. The makeup along with the hair and the shoes also really add to the Barbie look. I also love the placing of the playboy logo. I think this look is very cute, feminine, and girly. This is a perfect outfit for summer.

The baby pink tube top paired with the denim Capri's gives this outfit a very early 2000s look. I like how they added drawstrings at the bottom of the Capri's because it adds a nice subtle detail. I love how it's casual but still glamorous. I love the versatility of this outfit, I could see it being worn in many different scenarios. I also love how the playboy logo and the ears add a cute added detail to the outfit.

I love how this look is casual but still fits in with the rest of the glamour looks. The double denim could be risky but I think this look was put together very nicely. This look was very put together with the matching denim and the accent of pink. I love how even the shoes and the bag match the outfit so well.

I love everything about this look. The hoop-skirt was a bold choice and was executed perfectly. I love the accent of the pink trim underneath the skirt and the matching bunny ears.

This look is fairly controversial but I think this was a very creative look. The flowers lined at the top of the corset plus the bow and the trail and the ears were paired perfectly together. Additionally, the makeup and the hair in this look goes great with this outfit. This look belongs in this collection.

Compared to the other looks in this collection this is of the more tamer outfits. The black body-con dress with the rhinestones is so classy and adds personality to the look. The black heels go perfectly with the dress without taking from it. The fan as an accessory gives this look an elegant look and goes perfectly with the overall vibe of this outfit.

I love how fun and flirty this outfit is. The strapless sweetheart neckline paired with the fluffy tutu gives the look a bright and youthful look. I also love how the glitter in the dress and the shoes are the same shade of silver.

The ripped dress along with the black flower headpiece, and being one of the only completely black outfits adds an edgy effect to this look. I love the matching black heels and the matching belt as well. Every piece in this look fits perfectly together.

This matching faded green two-piece set is youthful along with stylish. The gold belt, the gold heels, and the matching gold jewelry adds a nice accent that gives a glam effect. The harem pants cutting off right before the heel starts is very neat and aesthetically pleasing. The purse matching the two-piece puts the whole look together.

The sweetheart neckline along with the flowy body-con dress add a very romantic feel to this look. I love how the boa gives a feminine and delicate look and goes great with that outfit. I love how the buttons, jewelry, shoes, and boa lining are all matching silver. This look is definitely one of my favorites.
